The Washington Conservatory of Music’s school year consists of two
17-week semesters, with makeup days scheduled during each
semester. (See lesson calendar) Students may sign
up for additional lessons between semesters. Summer lessons are
arranged on a per-teacher basis.
WCM is closed for the following holidays and recesses:
Since most lessons and classes begin later in the day than public and private schools, WCM does not necessarily follow area school closings. For announcements of closings on days of inclement weather, students may call 301-320-2770 or 202-237-8206 after 11 am on weekdays or by 8 am on Saturday. Lessons or classes missed because of WCM closings will be rescheduled during makeup days or by special arrangement with the teacher.
