Jazz Ensembles

About Ensembles

  1. Students are placed by the Conservatory in ensembles of three or more members with similar levels of proficiency.
  2. Private study at WCM is not required.
  3. Participants must be available for all rehearsals so that everyone in the ensemble can have the best possible learning experience.

Beginning Jazz Group for Middle and High School Students | register now
Class 1: Sa, Sep 19-Nov 21, 10-11am
Class 2: Sa, Dec 5-Feb 20, 10-11am, No class Dec 26, Jan 2
Both performance and class work to learn the rudiments of jazz improvisation. By instructor placement. Call 301.320.2770 prior to registration. Minimum age 11. 10 sessions. $240

Electric Ensembles | register now

Jazz and rock ensembles for electric guitarists, horns, and rhythm section. Performance oriented ensembles. By instructor placement. Call 301.320.2770 prior to registration. Minimum age 12. 10 sessions. $240

Advanced Jazz Ensemble | register now

Drumset Ensemble | register now

Class 2: Su, Nov 29-Feb 14, 12-1pm No class Dec 27, Jan 3
Emphasis on soloing, accompaniment, interpretation of written parts for rock and jazz. Basic drumset technique, sight-reading ability necessary. Additional sections may be added. Call 301.320.2770 prior to registration. Minimum age 10. 10 sessions. $240

Percussion Ensemble | register now
