The Washington Conservatory is one of the 16 nationally accredited community music schools in the United States (NASM/ACCPAS) serving students of all ages, tots, teens and adults, through individual lessons, classes, and ensembles. WCM provides a free public professional concert series, and sponsors Tapestry Music Program, serving children of immigrant families through music.

The Washington Conservatory, one of 16 nationally accredited community music schools in the US, and professional concert presenter in the Greater Washington DC area, is seeking a Program Assistant to give general support to the operations of WCM and the 3 FT staff members, in the following areas: marketing, registration, grant research, general office administration, library, facilities coordination, assistant to Executive and Artistic Director.
Position is a minimum 20 hour per week with flexible hours between 10 am and 6 pm, M - F. The position will include the responsibility of site coordinator, and WCM student and parent liaison at WCM at Glen Echo Park, 1 pm to 6 pm Monday through Thursday. Other responsibilities include assistance at monthly Friday or Saturday night concerts at Westmoreland Circle, and weekend events at Glen Echo Park, potentially expanding the position to approximately 30 hours or more per week. Program Assistant role includes working with the Director of Communications to stimulate enrollment by posting events, delivering marketing materials, acting as liaison with special interest groups, maintaining a development calendar, researching new development opportunities, and assisting with grant research.
The Program Assistant will attend weekly staff meetings and represent WCM at bi-monthly Glen Echo Park partnership meetings.
Compensation: $16 per hour.
