Cellist Drew Owen has performed with the National Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony, The Washington National Opera, and The Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, and others, including tours in Asia and across the U.S. As a member of Vienna’s Haydn Synfonietta, he performed throughout Austria, Germany, and France. He was formerly a member and soloist with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and member of the New Orleans Symphony. Owen received his Bachelor of Music degree from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, pursued further studies in Europe, and received his Master of Music degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He is a faculty member of The Washington Conservatory of Music and Howard University.

Drew has had a lifelong passion for magic and performs magic throughout the area both solo for parties and special events as the wizard, Professor Fizzwiffle or Musico the Magnificent, and as the magician/cellist in the trio, PRESTO! which presents educational programs for children in Washington D.C. schools through the National Symphony’s In School Ensemble Program. The group is affiliated with Montgomery County Cultural Arts, Creative Arts Program (CAPs) for the Arts Council of Fairfax County, and The Humanities Project for Arlington County Public Schools.

Drew is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians. He loves to perform close up, sleight of hand magic, and tries to never be caught without a deck of cards. He brings the same dedication and dexterity to his magic that one would expect from a professional cellist.

An informal one-hour casual concert featuring the magic and music of Drew Owen to top off your summer evening at Art Walk in the Park. Sit back and relax while you experience the music.

This program is presented in coordination with Art Walk in the Park.
