Glen Echo Park Birthday Parties

The Washington Conservatory offers birthday parties for children and adults of all ages. Each party is different and specifically tailored to the age of the birthday person, and the number of party attendees.

Parties are held in the new Conservatory Recital Room that includes a grand piano, a 108 inch screen and projector, and up to 50 stackable chairs. This large room can be arranged in a variety of ways. A table can be at one end for cake; chairs can be moved to the side for game activity; or child-size chairs or floor pillows arranged for up-close music experience. For smaller birthday parties for one or two-year-olds an interactive adult/child music class may be held in the smaller early childhood classroom with 10 comfortable large floor pillows.

Music Birthday parties include room rental and one of several musical options. You may choose a mini-music class led by a seasoned music class teacher, or a musical presentation by one, two or three professional musicians. Each party includes a Conservatory party host.

An added party option is rental of the Conservatory Virtual Acoustic Recording Booth, which may be used for the fun of hearing oneself sing or talk in various virtual acoustic environments (such as in an arena, or a large auditorium, or a cathedral) or for actually recording. If this option is chosen, the WCM host will provide help with the booth and optional download of the recording to a flash-drive to take home.

All Birthday Parties are held at the Washington Conservatory site at Glen Echo Park.

Price list (valid January–April, 2010)

WCM Music Party – Package No. 1: Solo
$265 | Up to 20 people (including children and adults) (additional guests: $10 per person)

Up to 3 hours room rental (including set-up)
Choice of one:
› 30 minute early childhood music class (1 teacher)
› 30 minute musical instrument demonstration (1 musician)
Use of 108 inch video screen and projector
Use of kitchen (microwave, filtered water fountain, small refrigerator, counter space)
Use of table and chairs
Party host

WCM Music Party – Package No. 2: Duo
$355 | Same as above with:

addition of a second musician for instrument demonstration.
45 minute presentation.

The duo package allows for more diverse musical presentation — such as a saxophone and drums or cello and piano. This also allows for more of a mini-concert as compared to the playing/ demonstration of the Basic Solo party.

WCM Music Party – Package No. 3: Trio
$455 | Same as Package 1 with the addition of two musicians.

With the trio comes a myriad of musical possibilities! You may select a classic string trio to serenade the guests with music from Bach to pop or a jazzy trio to play music old and new (piano, sax, drums) or many other combinations. This party is appropriate for all ages — children through adults!

OPTIONAL:
$55 Virtual Acoustic Booth Option One hour use of the *Virtual Acoustic Recording booth (see above). Just for fun during the party or also to save a recording of song or words (see flash drive fee below).

$24 Take home your recording on a flash-drive (recording and download assistance provided.)
